I was honored to host legendary Beatles recording Engineer, Geoff Emerick sharing his stories with the audience in our JBL Demo Room at the AES show. Following is a clip from his talk, in which he responds to a question "By the time you started working with the Beatles, they were already huge. Did that intimidate you?" Completely taken by the Beatles and astonished by what they accomplished in the studio, you can imagine how I felt when I received a call from Beatles Recording Engineer, Geoff Emerick, requesting a demo of our studio monitors years ago. I set up a set in Capitol Studio C - Geoff pressed play on the Seargeant Pepper LP - listening for nuance, while it was all I could do to stay in my body. Geoff was the guy who was responsible for the sounds that become imprinted in my brain when we first heard them in the 60s. Geoff liked the speakers and he and I became good friends.
